Welcome to Jersey Shore Ambulatory Surgery Center (JSASC). We look forward to your visit! Please read the following important information regarding your upcoming procedure.
Prior to Surgery
You must complete the One Medical Passport (OMP) online at
www.onemedicalpassport.comComplete this as soon as you have your surgery date. Failure to our receiving this 72 business hours prior to your procedure may result in cancellation. This portal is available in many languages and can be completed on a smart phone, computer, or tablet. Please forward to Jersey Shore Ambulatory Surgery Center in Somers Point.
* Please report any illness, infections, or changes in health status to your physician as soon as they occur.
* You must have a Responsible Adult Companion immediately available to drive you home and stay with you for 24 hours after your procedure.
Medications
Please discuss all blood thinners, NSAIDS, over the counter medications, Diabetic & Weight loss medications and vitamins with your physician. Not stopping certain medications prior to surgery may result in cancellation.
NSAIDS such as Aleve, Ibuprofen, Advil, Celebrex, Meloxicam, Diclofenac etc.
Blood Thinners such as Aspirin, Coumadin, Xarelto, Plavix etc.
Weight loss & Diabetic medications such as Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, Trulicity, Jardiance, Farxiga, etc.
Maintenance such as Suboxone.
Please notify your surgeon of any new medications that you have been prescribed including antibiotics.
Diagnostic testing
Tests may be ordered by your physician. Please complete as directed.
If You Are Having Anesthesia/Sedation:
Do not eat or drink anything after 12:00 midnight the night before surgery (this includes: chewing gum, lozenges, hard candy and chewing tobacco) unless otherwise instructed.
Do not bring valuables with you on the day of surgery (this includes: purses, money, jewelry, etc.).
If possible, make arrangements for child care which will allow you to concentrate on recovering.
If receiving anesthesia or sedation, please have a responsible adult to drive you home.
You will be asked to arrive at least 1 hour prior to the time of your surgery; however, this may be up to 2 hours, depending on the type of anesthesia you are receiving. A nurse from Jersey Shore Ambulatory Surgery Center will call you with your arrival time.
If you have diabetes, you will be given instructions as to the dose and time to take your medication prior to arriving at the center.
